Luck. I don't know if I really believe in luck, whether it be good, bad or neutral. I've done alot of reading over the past three years of University on Fortune, Luck, Fate and Destiny. While they have definately helped me develop certain ideas (or perhaps hopes), I'm still unsure. I would never claim to have bad luck, as I have way too many blessings in my life. Likewise, I would never claim to have good luck, as the last few years have been very very tough for alot of people that I know, including myself.

Despite all of this, I will make the following statement confidently: I have the best of luck when it comes to Secret Pal. Secret Pal 4 was my first time involved in the whole secret gifting process. I was lucky enough to have been matched with a wonderfully crafty and brilliant Elizabeth. She spoiled me way beyond any expectations I ever had. Honestly, it was fantastic :)

Now, Secret Pal 5 is underway. I have been matched with the mysterious "MollyKnitter". So far, this lovely lady has me thanking my lucky stars for my good fortune. She's been sweet, considerate, crafty, creative, kind and outgoing. Exactly what I was looking for in a secret pal. Today, she out did herself.

A package arrived. I could barely contain my excitement as I raced up the 9 floors (on the elevator of course) to open my first gift. My reaction, upon opening? "Holy crap! This is better than Christmas!"

1. The new summer 2005 Interweave. I don't know what everyone has been saying, but I absolutely love this issue! There are already about 5 projects I want to make :) The summer sundress, the bed and bath duo (namely the housecoat and pjs), the Viennese shrug, the padded footlets and the lace leaf pullover (which, amusingly enough, is the one project from loup-d-loup I fell in love with. I almost bought the book purely for this! Keep in mind, I wont look so much like an angry princess leah :P). I'm also considering the fiery bolero, the lacy kerchief scarf, the go with the flow socks and the Mary Jane Mucklestone shrug. So great!
2. Lavender Eucalan fine fabric wash
3. A great knitty card (as in, very knitting appropriate, not affiliated with the webpage!). Handmade? I love it!
4. Two skeins of Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud in Sand!! Sweet merciful crap, this stuff is gorgeous! I keep touching it and petting it, to the point one of the pretty skeins is starting to unravel at the top :)
5. A cute little figurine of a sheep :D He's going to live on top of my monitor with mini Cthulu
6. A cute and super-portable Needleguage checker thing
7. A wee bit of beautiful teal Qiviut!! How luxurious is that?!
8. A beautiful pattern to make a bookmark with the Qiviut. It's in a lovely LoTR lace pattern. I love it! Here's a better picture of the two together:

Isn't that great? I mean, I nearly died in glee. This is exactly what I needed this week. Thanks MollyKnitter :) This is the best non-birthday yet early-birthday gift :)
