The Knitting Maevan: A page of craftiness

The Knitting Maevan

There's something supremely cool about listening to lovely jazz while knitting on a sleepy afternoon. It's warm and humid outside today. Thunderstorms all last night, rain off and on during the day. I feel very accomplished and relaxed. Too bad I have to work tonight.

I woke up early this morning (early during the week, for me, is about 9am) to clean. My room is now livable. Yay! Afterwards, I made off to the University to drop off my Poetry Analysis of Blake's "An Ecchoing Green". After that, I got home and faced off with the ancient AC. I woke the beast and have been living comfortably ever since. It was a bit of a gamble really. I chose to ignore the fact that there may be a wasp army living within and turned it on anyway. Other than some dust in the eye, it went very well. Afterwards, I did some calling and appointment making that I've been putting off. I then ripped back my recent problem with Rebecca Cardi and relaxed to some Michael Buble. Good times. I also got to enjoy the cupcakes I made for work the other day.

You see, I was at home sick (rather, I was ailing. Sick implies a cold. No, I was uncomfortably at home with a UTI). Work called me in, and then quickly decided that I should stay home and rest (which is interesting, as rest really doesn't help that sort of thing so much..then again, neither does standing for 6 hours, so it really was for the best). In my gratitude, I made them all cupcakes that went over fairly well. Yay.

Oh! In further music news: Stars and Neko Case are both in town for Bluesfest! Bwa! I'm going to try to make it out, though it is very expensive. Oh well. I'll do what I can.

Not much for knitting content, eh? I'm sorry. I feel rambling when I get warm and relaxed.

Pat finally chose a sweater for me to make him.

It's the Adirondack Pullover from The Garter Belt. It's a little more... plain than I was expecting, but at least it's casual enough that he'll wear it more than something with a ton of cables. Personally, I was hoping for this. Oh well ;) Now, I just need to get him to pick a colour. Personally, I would love to see a dark blue, red or maybe green. We'll see. It's really up to him. A tweedy brown would also be nice, though I dunno what it'd look like on him. He has olive skin and doesn't really experiment with his clothes so much. All the same, I'm not starting it for a little while yet. I, at very least, want to finish a sweater for me before making one for anyone else :)
