The Knitting Maevan: A page of craftiness

The Knitting Maevan

Thursday, June 02, 2005

It's been one year and a couple weeks since I started knitting. I forgot to post about it when the day came and went. I was probably too busy knitting at the time. Heh. Oh well. I'll, hopefully, remember my blog's anniversary instead.

Meanwhile, today we hit 2500 visits!! How exciting :) I think I'm going to tone down the background, finally. I think everyone is aware it's June. I don't really need to remind them ;) Speaking of June... my birthday is in 10 days! Ah!

So, in knitting news, I'm finally making progress on my Rebecca cardi. I'm about to start the decreases on the back. Unfortunately, I screwed up on two of the lace flowers. I've been debating with myself about whether or not I should bother fixing them. They aren't that bad.

At the same time, I know it's there, and now, you know it's there. Can I really just leave it? Must I be this much of a perfectionist on my first sweater? I think I already know the answer to that.

Speaking of cute sweaters and perfection, I'm buying the One Skein Wonder pattern today. I'm considering splurging and also investing in Orangina. We'll see :). I love how this one turned out. I just don't know if it'd work on a more curvy lady. Thoughts? Anyway, I sold off a bunch of my BPAL stuff and, as a result, have a ton of USD sitting in my paypal account. Must. Not. Blow. On. Stupid. Crap. So far, I've finally bought myself a copy of one of my favourite books, "Fool on the Hill" by Matt Ruff. Such a funny and strange read. Highly recommended. I've also tried to find myself a copy of the new interweave and new BUST, but I haven't had any luck. If anyone wants to sell either of them, you know where to find me ;) I'm also considering "You Grow Girl". Has anyone had any good/bad experiences with this book?

It's waaay too warm to think right now. This is going to be my first summer without central air. I am a spoiled suburban girl. I will force myself to survive it. I know I can do it, I just don't know how productive I'll be in the mean time. We do have an air conditioner. My concern is that I think a nest of wasps have made it their home. Thoughts? Our AC is right underneith a window and beside our patio door. I'm afraid of forcing the bastards into the apartment and causing a waspy apocalypse. Perhaps I'm being a little pessimistic here, but I don't want to see a single one of the little vengeful mean warriors floating around in my home. I hate wasps. Lis and I will probably get the landlords to deal with it. Which, of course, means having them in our appartment. Hmm. Boo. On that note, I think my post is done ;)

Oh! Welcome to my new readers (namely my secret pal). Hope you enjoy my ramblings. ;) In fact, I have a request for all of my readers: If ever you want to hear more about or see more of something, let me know! Don't be shy :) I love feedback. With the comments being a little kooky, feel free to email me instead. I love getting random emails :)
