The Knitting Maevan: A page of craftiness

The Knitting Maevan

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's a gorgeous day in Ottawa today. It got up to 12 degrees celcius. Not too sunny, just a perfect spring day. I even wore a skirt today (!). I also brought in cookies for people at school, as well as a chocolate chai cake, recipe from Jae over at Domestic Affair. It was a really good day :)

Meanwhile, I've finally decided to post some knitting news! I FINALLY got Lucky figured out. Our time apart definately gave me some insight. So, I restarted and am now a few inches into the back.

Isn't she pretty? I hope to have it done in a month or two. Sigh. I am THE slowest knitter ever. At least my family adores it. Every single female Sutherland and related has fondled and cooed over her. It was nice :)

I'm also working on a bit of a secret project. A gift for a dear friend of mine, maybe. Depends on what I think of it in the end. Tis the drop-stitch scarf from SnBN made of recycled silk. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to work with, but I just love the colours so much. I wish it didn't look so fuzzy and muddy when knit together. Oh well. I think she'll like it :)

Meanwhile, I've been thinking about other projects. I'm a knitting whore, what can I say? I'm seriously considering working on Candy next from knitty. Right now I'm trying to figure out colour combos. I'm thinking MC dark blue and CC brown. Or: MC Green, CC Pink. MC Plum, CC Goldy. MC Blue, CC Green. Thoughts? I want something pretty and unique, something I can wear all the time.

I also want to work on my French Market bag. It's about the right time of year for a pretty bag. I still have to pick up some pretty Patons petal pink. I am also going to make myself the pretty lacy scarf/kerchief from Last Minute Knitted gifts in some left over pink Sirdir mohair. Wee! Knitting ADD!

In other crafty news, Mum is finally teaching me how to work with stained glass. We're starting small, mainly mosaics. I can't wait :) Also, I'm going to be pulling out the ol' sewing machine to make some cute skirts I think. Maybe. We'll see. Summer vacation means a whole lotta free time.

In other happy news, my darling Pat is giving Lis and I a TV! You see, when we moved, Lis' TV (a gift from her parents last year) was damaged. The colours are wonky (yellow is purple and so forth). Pat's family just bought a new TV and so they're giving it to us! I'm so happy!

Other things on my mind:
-David Usher and Stars concerts coming up soon
-Exams start 18th, end 23rd
-Seeing Sin City ASAP (I can't WAIT to see that movie!!)
-SPRING!
-Finding a job for the summer

So, that's it for now folks. I'm sorry for the slow reply. I've been really caught up in school work. I should have more free time soon, I swear.
