The Knitting Maevan

Woo, I'm a knitting fiend. Well, for me. I have accepted the fact that I am a slow knitter. Now, before you comment, I know: Anyone watching Lis knit would feel like a slow knitter, but that is not all. Even my new-to-knitting friend Sarah Beth pumps out scarfs faster than I can cast on. Seriously, I have come to terms with it. Plus, I'm a process kind of girl anyway. I think.

I digress. I have completed another project. Everyone, welcome our new friend, "Kim's Soft-as-Sin Scarf".

I posted more pics and info, as per usual, on my FO page. Anyway, I love it with only one small disappointment: It ended up about 2 feet sorter than intended. I ran out of Patons Allure and can't afford 4 more skeins (it was roughly 7-8$/skein) to lengthen it properly. Oh well. If Kim doesn't like it, I'm sure I can find a happy home for it.

I'm pleased with myself, actually making things again. It's been a while :)

Meanwhile, I've finally contacted my secret pal :) She seems like a very interesting person. I look forward to watching her blog and sending her fun stuff. I have yet to hear from my pal yet, though I'm sure that'll come with time. If you are out there, Secret Pal, welcome to my little hobbit hole on the 'net. I look forward to hearing from you :) I love getting stuff in the mail! I'm excited.

So, in other news, we definately have an apartment to move into on March 1st. Wee :) I'm really excited. I have all these grand ideas for making it our space. You guys will probably see alot of home-related crafts being posted.

In more knitting news, Pat has rejected (completely, totally and utterly) the idea of having a hat with earflaps. Boo. Looks like I'm stuck making either a) a very big hot head (which I don't want to do, because beanies aren't supposed to be long like that, it gives even the roundest of heads a cone-like affect) b)a longer toque. Any pattern suggestions?

26. Is there anything that you collect? Books! Exotic things for my room, candles/candle holders, neat stuff :) JOURNALS, Tarot Cards, neat decks of cards, stationary sets, neat artwork.

I discovered this past weekend that I've been blogging for a long time now. I've had my blog since March 4th 2002, and my Maevan LJ since September 3rd 2001. Strange how much of my life has been recorded and left available to anyone who should be so inclined as to take a peek. Interesting. Anyway, take care :) Happy February to all.
