The Knitting Maevan

Hey everyone :) New layout! I find this one is a lot cleaner and a bit easier to navigate. Let me know what you think!

Last night's Meetup was fun. Only Lissa, Katherine, Mary and Gavin showed up this time, out of the 10 people who said they'd be there. Oh well, their loss. I cast on the second slipper for Tracy, had a nice Thai Chicken wrap, a rootbeer and a Chai Latte. Temporary funds are always nice to play with :)

Meanwhile, I'm extremely excited about the Secret Pal 4. I can't wait to get started. To keep myself occupied, I made a Knitter's Survey. Copy, paste and fill out your answers, even if you're not participating :)

Online Pen Name and significance: Maekitty, combines my nickname, Maevan, with my love of cats and one of my other nicknames, Kitty.
Your specialty: Don't have one yet :) Apparently, Lis is beginning to associate me with luxury yarns.
Favourite yarns: Anything vibrant! Soft, interesting. Recycled silk, oh, and anything tweed (like this, and this).
Least Favourite yarns: Eyelash or funfur. Don't like it at all.
Favourite projects: So far, I couldn't really say. I love working on my sister's checkered scarf. It's an interesting yarn, and an interesting design. I can't wait to start on a sweater though.
Least Favourite Projects: HATS! My bane! I've only made two, but I didn't really enjoy them. Boo.
Knitting goals: Sweaters! My ultimate goal is Rogue, which means I have a lot to tackle before hand. Also, to work with alpaca, Rowan yarn, Debbie Bliss Cashmerino, etc.. Woo fanciness.
Favourite knitting read: I haven't read much, but I've really enjoyed Family Circle Easy Knitting, SnB of course.
Do you knit in public?: Yep :) Namely, school, on the bus and in cafes.
Have you ever met anyone from an online knitting community?: People from Meetup, but that's it.
Are you into other crafts/arts? If so, what?: Hugely! I sew, I draw, I create, you name it, I'm interested :)
Other interests: music, movies, culture, travel, reading, folklore.
