The Knitting Maevan: A page of craftiness

The Knitting Maevan

A new blog! Yes folks, I have acquired yet another journal to add to my vast collection. This one is unlike any other though. It is entirely devoted to the craftier things of life. While it is named after my current love, knitting, I may post other things here (for instance, my sewing projects).

Anyway, let me know what you people think! Meanwhile, check out my projects while I repost something found in one of my other journals:

"You look like my grandmother"
I can't say that I've ever heard that one before, but it certain brought a laugh from each of us. I'm in a strangely good mood. I'm at work right now, taking a brief break from my running around and watching. Our system's specialist was making cards in my office when he looked over to see me knitting. I suppose most girls would be insulted by such a comment, but it made me smile. Seeing me knit reminded him of his grandmother who, he remarked, was a wonderful woman. Funny. When I see a girl knit, I think of wonderful Bohemian artists and writers, Indian scarfs and wonderfully homemade soft things, coloured glass bottles in window sills and music. I suppose it's a generational thing. I suppose it also is affected by the fact that my grandmother never knit. In fact, the only women in my life that used to knit during my childhood were my mother and my darling second-mother, Mila. *shrugs*. I'm in the process of knitting pillow's for my future room design. They are these lovely red/purple/pink soft creations that will eventually go with my ecclectic boho theme.
